Font Roja National Park is considered to be one of the best preserved natural spaces in the Comunidad Valenciana. The protected natural area covers some 2,298 hectares, (9 square miles) and includes the mountainous alignment of El Alto de San Antonio, El Carrascal de la Fuente Roja and La Teixereta. The summit of Sierra de Menejador, 1,356 m high (4,580 ft.), is the highest point of the park.
Located just 11 kilometres from downtown Alcoy, Font Roja National Park is an oasis of calm and tranquillity. At the park, you will find a visitor centre that explains the parks unique fauna and wildlife along with a glass walkway that wraps around the building with views of the city below.
In 2017 Restaurant Font Roja opened for business serving a wide array of local dishes that include a set price lunch menu. The park has several well-marked trails for hiking that you must keep to at all times. Being a protected space, bicycles are not permitted but camping is provided you obtain a licence from the Espai Jove Centre in Alcoy Tel- 96 553 71 41.
