An alleged thief was arrested after fleeing from the Police and crashing his car following a 130-kilometer chase

The arrested man was caught in the Valencian town of Moncada when he was going to carry out a robbery and was pursued 130 kilometers until he lost control of the white Peugout he was driving and crashed into a supermarket in Alcoy Norte.

According to the Local Police of Cocentaina, through their social networks, the Local Police of Moncada surprised him “when he was going to perpetrate a robbery in that town,” and he fled with the vehicle. Cocentaina police received a call for collaboration while the car was being pursued by the Civil Guard and several local police forces along the A-7 motorway in the direction of Alicante.

Once the fugitive driver entered the municipality of Cocentaina, the Local Police managed to get him to leave the A-7 highway. They then continued the pursuit in the direction of Alcoy. After just entering the city’s north zone, the driver lost control of the car and crashed into a Lidl supermarket. He was then arrested by the Cocentaina police and the Civil Guard.
According to reports, the driver is 24-years-old and had had his driving license taken away in March for an offense in which he did time in prison.
