Valencia confirms that a COVID-19 vaccination certificate will be mandatory in some spaces

The president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, confirmed this Sunday that the Generalitat would approve in the coming days the obligation to present a COVID-19 vaccination certificate to access certain closed spaces in the Valencian Community.

The head of the Consell has avoided giving a specific date but has affirmed that “in the next few days,” a measure will be approved for which they are “clearly in favor.” According to Puig, the goal is to give “maximum security to people,” and that happens through vaccination. The president said this decision would send a message to the 8% of people who have not yet been vaccinated.

The Minister of Health, Ana Barceló, insists that the virus has not gone away and it is necessary to have “the maximum possible protection” against COVID-19. “We will never tire of repeating it: you have to get vaccinated,” says Barceló.
