The Valencian Community may soon require vaccination certificates to access certain places

The President of the Valencian Community Ximo Puig has announced that he is waiting for legal coverage to implement a COVID-19 passport to access specific closed spaces.

While visiting Font d’En Carròs, Puig appealed to the 500,000 Valencians who have not been vaccinated and warned that they may need proof of being vaccinated to enter certain establishments and buildings in the coming days. The president of the Generalitat believes that now is the time to take another step to force people who are not vaccinated to get the shot.

From today, the 210,000 people who received the single dose of the Janssen vaccine will be called up to receive a second dose. Regional health authorities will first call the most vulnerable and those over 70-years-old.

When speaking about the overall situation, Puig said:

“We must accelerate the immunity process to reach this next spring and finally overcome the pandemic because there are people in the ICU who may end up dying.”
