52 People Have COVID-19 In Cocentaina Nursing Home

The mayor of Cocentaina, Mireia Estepa, has confirmed through a video on social media that the Domus Vi nursing home in Cocentaina now has 47 residents and five workers infected with COVID-19.
The council’s concern was immediately transferred to the Ministry of Health, which will give more support to the residence.

The library, the sports center, the playgrounds of the parks, the El Teular Cultural Center, and the Palau Comtal will remain closed, while the Casa de la Joventut and the Social Services’ uses will be reduced.
“In the resolution, we determine that people go as little as possible to public spaces because we want people to stay at home and only go to work, shopping, and school, only necessary movements,” said the mayor.
Estepa stressed that “surely the number will increase” and therefore called for responsibility to reduce the virus’s incidence. “People should avoid contact with friends and family to avoid being the focus of contagion with the people we love,” she added.
Cocentaina has added a total of 105 cases in the last 14 days, more than at any time since the virus was first detected in the town back in March 2020.
