Snow Causes Havoc On Roads Around Alcoy
Storm Filomena has brought havoc to the A7 between Alcoy and Ibi and several other towns due to heavy snowfall.
The storm has caused secondary roads’ closures and forced drivers to use chains when driving through the mountains.
La Font Roja, blanca ❄ Recordad que Alcoi está confinada y que la carretera está cerrada, por si a alguien se le había pasado por la cabeza subir.

One of the problematic points was the A-7 highway between Ibi and Alcoy, where a section of the road runs above 850 meters. Work crews have managed to keep one lane open but have closed the road to heavy goods vehicles.
According to the Generalitat information, the only road still closed is the CV-794 between Alcoy and Bocairent.
Drivers should also take caution on the CV-795 between Alcoy and Banyeres, along with the CV-801 between Ibi and Oneil.
Traveling over Aitana to get to the coast is not recommended even when using chains.
