The project announced by the Generalitat affects a section of CV-60 road that connects Alcoy to Gandia on the coast.
The project contemplates converting the road section between L’Olleria and Terrateig into a highway. The central regions’ structuring will improve mobility and shorten journey’s from the interior to the coast.
The CV-60 highway connects, from west to east, the regions of l’Alcoià, El Comtat, Vall d’Albaida, La Costera, La Safor, and La Marina. It runs from the connection with the A-7, at the height of the L’Olleria tunnels, to the intersection of the CV-680, and has three sections, the first, from L’Olleria to Terrateig, which has a single carriageway, with one lane per direction with access control and links at different levels.
The head of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility, Arcadi Spain, has explained that it is precisely in this section that action will be taken. It has a total length of 23.1 kilometers. For this, the Generalitat plans to invest 65 million euros.
Another improvement that the project will include is executing a 13.3-kilometer stretch of a three-meter-wide bike lane that will continue the CR-60 cycle route.
