Alcoy has the highest COVID-19 death rate in the Valencian Community

Figures published by the Valencian Health Department on Saturday, April 11th show that Alcoy and the surrounding L’Alcoià and El Comtat region has the highest number of deaths in the Valencian community.

Since the coronavirus crisis began, Alcoy and the surrounding towns and villages have out of a population of 137,051 recorded 347 people testing positive for the coronavirus. Of these 347 cases, 93 have died, which is a death rate of 26.8%. Of the 93 fatalities, 53 were residents of the Domus Vi Nursing Home on Calle Oliver in Alcoy.
