They have been awarded the best communication at the XXXVI Cardiovascular Disease Congress of the Valencian Community held in Alicante
The cardiology nurses at the Virgen de los Lirios Hospital in Alcoy have received an award for the way they interact with patients.
The award for the best scientific communication between medical staff and patients was granted at the XXXVI Congress of Cardiovascular Diseases of the Valencian Community that took place in Alicante. In the work carried out by the Nurses of the Heart Health Unit of the Department of Health of Alcoy, the follow-up and care of their patients over the course of 15 months is summarized. Elena Jordá, Miriam Ribera and Rosa Revert are the three nurses who have developed this study.
Nurses also delivered several workshops during the congress on cardiac insufficiency, pulmonary hypertension and drug titration. This project, entitled ‘Results of a multidisciplinary approach to the unit of heart failure in a community unit’, began in December 2017 and has provided data on its habits of life, control of risk factors … The study that has helped to reduce the number of patients with heart failure and increase their quality of life.
