Last weekend’s rain to help local farmers
Having deposited somewhere between 150 and 300 litres of rain per square metre, last weekend’s weather will benefit the cultivation of cherries, olives and almonds.
While forcing the cancellation of many Easter events the heavy rains managed to not only flood the river Serpis, but increase the water level in Beniarrés Reservoir by 20%.
The big beneficiary will be the regions Cheery growers who now expect to have a bumper harvest once the fruits are picked starting the end of April.
