The headquarters of the Local Police of Alcoy has organized the Local Security Board in which the security and civil protection device for the upcoming Moors and Christians Festivities has been completely revised. The act was attended by the sub-delegation of the Government of Alicante, Araceli Poblador and the Mayor of Alcoy, Antonio Francés, among others.
It has been decided that the deployment will have a total of 1,200 professionals, 108 of whom will be members of the civil protection body. The troops that are part of this device are: the Civil Guard, the Seprona, Local Police, Fire with 9 vehicles, Red Cross with 11 vehicles, operators of Works and Services and more than 100 volunteers of Civil Protection, in addition to a special device to attend hospital emergencies formed by more than 150 health professionals.
Like last year, the system will be repeated when distributing gunpowder in the Baradell or Moya shelter in addition to drug and alcohol tests. An important aspect is a campaign that will be held for the second consecutive year to prevent sexist aggressions. A campaign that the sub-delegate has praised.
In this way, there will be three information points where you can report acts of harassment during the holidays. They will be located in the Glorieta, in the passage of Sant Agustí and in the Plaza de Correos. This year, as a novelty, the schedule has been extended in the morning and in the afternoon. That is why they will distribute purple bracelets with the motto ‘Alcoi diu NO és no’. Against the aggressions sexistes som una veu .’
