130 scientists compared the eating habits in 195 countries and concluded that a poor diet rich in fast food and a lack of grains and fruit combined with excess salt was behind the majority of adult deaths.
The rest of the diet based deaths were due to mover consumption of sugary drinks, red meat, processed meat and trans-fatty acids.
The number one killer was heart disease followed by cancer and type 2 diabetes.
If you want to live a longer, healthier life look to Spain and other Mediterranean countries and replace the foods you eat now with olive oil, fish, fruit nuts and grains.
