Alcoy looks into changing the street lights on Avenida País Valencià

Alcoy residents have proposed the removal of the current street lights on  Avenida País Valencià and replacing them with lights mounted on the facades of buildings.

According to Councillor Maribel Sánchez, “The entire length of the sidewalk will be used” after the marble pillars and existing lights are removed.

Sanchez went on to say that a previous project was implemented to widen the sidewalk,  but “having maintained the street lamps with marble foot in the same original position, it has not been possible to expand the actual width of the sidewalk “.

She added that, in this way, “the sidewalk can be used by pedestrians in all its extension, to get a suitable space to enjoy the walk and trying to benefit the commercial area in one of the sections with more locations in the city.”
