Spain is willing to offer the UK a Brexit extension

Spain has said it is willing to offer the UK an extension on the 29th of March deadline for leaving the European Union but wants an explanation from London on how Britain proposes to move forward.

When asked about the UK seeking an extension on the Brexit timeline at an event in Warsaw, Spain’s Foreign Minister Josep Borrell said: “To move to another kind of agreement they need time and I think we should be ready to give them more time. But they need to do something more than that, they need to explain how they are going to look for a new agreement.”

Adding; “Britain would need to organize European Parliament elections if there is no agreement in the short-term.”
