The city of Alcoy has added a container washing truck to its fleet of vehicles and will wash the city’s bins every 15 days.
The truck has a cleaning capacity to wash between 60 and 80 containers per shift and will operate by following a rubbish collection vehicle on its route through the city.
When the container has been introduced into the truck, it is hermetically sealed and is scrubbed on the inside by rotating brushes that eliminate residue and liquids that may have remained in the container after having been emptied.
Each cleaning last approximately 2 minutes before the bin is returned to its original position using an innovative pincer system.
The mayor of Environment, Jordi Martínez, said that “all these developments have greatly improved the service of street collection and will enable our city to be much cleaner”.
