Alcoy remembers the Madrid bombings

Alcoy is just one of the cities that joined together to condemn the terrorist attacks that occurred in Madrid on March 11, 2004. Representatives of all political parties gathered together for a minute of silence in the Plaza de España to show their repulsion towards the acts carried out by a Yubaist cell in four commuter trains of the Spanish capital, which ended the lives of 193 people and injured two thousand.

“One of the shadows of these last forty years, the era of greatest social progress, have been ETA and jihadist terrorism, which has caused great pain to many families.” The president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, has also condemned some acts, those perpetrated on 11-M fifteen years ago, which, he assures, “we must not forget”.
