Food Warning: Cancer-causing substance found in products sold in Spain

Acrylamide, a substance the World Health Organisation calls carcinogenic has been detected in five foods sold in Spain.

Of 477 products tested 55 were sold in Spain with 5 exceeding the limit for the accepted amount of acrylamide.

The products you should avoid are french fries sold at fast food hamburger chain Five Guys, Mercadona’s olive oil crisps, Frit Ravich crisps without added salt and two baby biscuit brands Simleat’s ecological biscuits and Yammy’s Biocookies.

Of note is the fact that both the baby cookies are sold as being organic.
