Two British tourists have been arrested by police following a double stabbing in Benidorm.
Witnesses to the incident say that a fight broke out in a bar on Benidorm’s popular tourist strip.
While there is no official confirmation the two perpetrators are believed to be from Scotland.
Dave McQueen, who owns Benidorm Holidays Ltd, told the Daily Mirror Online: “My friend is seriously ill after being stabbed in the belly.
“I am on the way back to the hospital. We can’t say any more at this time.”
Meanwhile, local newspaper Ahora Marina Baiza is reporting that the two injured men were working as bouncers at the bar and were stabbed by ‘aggressive’ customers who were being thrown out.
Spain’s National Police issued a statement saying: “Two men have been arrested after a stabbing incident in Benidorm last night around 10.30pm.“They are both British and aged 20 and 21.
“Two people, workers at the place where the incident happened, suffered what appeared to be stab wounds.”
