Hospitals to offer FREE television for patients
All hospitals in the Valencian Community will start offering a free television service for patients starting Friday, February 15th.
The project is expected to cost the regional government around 1.2 million euros for the installation and maintenance of the televisions, including accessories, i.e. batteries and remotes.
Previously patients had to pay 4 euros per day in order to watch television in their rooms.
The new service will be offered in 2,231 individual rooms, 2,749 in double rooms, 318 in waiting rooms and 286 at hospitals posts.
Ana Barceló, councillor of the department of Universal Health and Public Health, stated that the new service was all part of a plan to improve the well-being of patients and universalise all services in order to avoid any extra costs during a patients stay in the hospital.
