Alcoy to combat loneliness in old people

In an upcoming meeting of local government, steps will be taken to reduce the impact of loneliness on older people, through new protocols in Social Services and Local Police. They also ask for the creation of public campaigns for the prevention of negative effects and the creation of a network of volunteers to help people who are in this situation.

It is a real fact that in the city of Alcoy, according to data from the year 2017, there are 15,644 people over 60 who live alone.

The councillor of Compromís, Begonya Domenech, comments that “we have a responsibility as politicians to ensure the improvement of the quality of life of our neighbours and to adapt our services to the needs of the current life of city residents”.
