After a slightly chilly but stable period of weather with little rainfall, winter is back with a vengeance as several Atlantic fronts roll in bringing with them heavy rainfall and snow.
The worst days will be Tuesday and Wednesday which will see the possibility of snow in the capital Madrid.
Spokesman for Aemet, Ruben del Campo, said ‘it is a normal winter situation’.
The first of the fronts is predicted to arrive today (Saturday), but ‘will not be very active, and will leave weak and concentrated rainfall mainly on the Atlantic slope, but above all in the northwest’.
Fortunately for us here in Alcoy, we will miss the brunt of the bad weather although we could experience a few showers tonight (Saturday) and again on Monday. It will remain quite chilly, with daytime highs of around 12° dropping down to near freezing at night.
