VIDEO: 737 landing during violent Thunder Storm

Cockpit footage of a Boeing 737-800 landing in Spain during a torrential downpour has gone viral on Social Media.

The aircraft’s controls can be seen moving violently to automatically compensate for the crosswinds and bad weather during an approach at Palma de Mallorca International Airport.

In near zero visibility conditions with winds gusting at 35 knots the pilots were praised for their calm attitude and ability to land the aircraft safely.

Some people reacted differently including NorCal Aviation saying: “Poor decision making by the Captain! This is how accidents happen. Just go and hold for 15 minutes and allow the cell to pass.”
