The P&O Line cruise ship Britannia and the Holland America Line-Prinsendam both arrived in Alicante last week with over 4,000 passengers and crew for a 17 hours stay in the Costa Blanca city.
According to figures from the Department of Commerce, by the end of October, some 10,000 tourists will have passed through Alicante this month. Two more ships the Aida Cruises- Aidacara and the Holland America Line Koningsdam are scheduled to visit the port before the end of the month.
In total Alicante will have welcomed just over 100,000 cruise ship tourists in 2018 surpassing the 86,000 that visited in 2017.
Alicante is proving to be a popular stopover for holidaymakers and has cruise companies planning even more ships visiting the port in 2019.
