The improvement of the CV-70 highway between Alcoy and Benidorm to turn it into a quicker road will continue to stay in the drawer of pending projects. The Minister of Public Works, María José Salvador, has made it clear that this project is not among the priorities of the Generalitat Valenciana.
Salvador explained that a 10-year infrastructure plan has already been completed and that it does not include improvements to the CV-70.
“What the Valencian Government is not going to do is make a promise and then not comply, as the PP did,” said the minister. “As long as we can start actions, we’ll announce it and put it in the budgets,” he added.
The current program does, however, include two important infrastructural projects for the region: The improvement of the CV-60 highway between L’Olleria and Terrateig, which will bring inland towns closer to Gandia, and the improvement of the Alcoy-Xàtiva railway line.
