Spiderman burglar arrested by police

Police in Valencia have arrested a 25-year-old man in who was allegedly attempting to rob homes after scaling walls and swinging from balcony to balcony.

The Romanian national reportedly hung from a balcony while trying to open a window by force, after scaling the walls of homes in the Transits district of the city.

Officers responded to reports that a man had been seen hanging from balconies in the area early Monday morning while the occupants of the flats were still asleep.

After realising the police were watching his every move the robber allegedly swung down from his balcony to the ground floor and ran off in a desperate attempt to escape.

Police caught up with the suspect and arrested him only to discover that he had a long list of previous offences for similar crimes on his criminal record.

The suspected burglar will now appear in court.
