Jet2 to fly more winter sun routes to Spain

UK low-cost airline Jet2 has announced that it will be adding extra flights to Spain and the Canary Islands for Brits looking for winter sun.

The Leeds based airline is offing an extra 300 seats from Castle Donington’s East Midlands Airport as part of an expanded winter programme for 2019/2020.

Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura will benefit the most with 135,000 seats being offered to the winter sun destination.

As for mainland Spain, the airline will offer six flights per week to Alicante and four flights per week to Malaga.

Chief Executive for Jet2 Steve Heapy said:  “This is our biggest and most exciting Winter Sun programme ever, giving customers from East Midlands Airport even more choice and flexibility when it comes to escaping the long British winter.

“As ever, we have designed our programme in direct response to demand from holidaymakers, so as well as continuing to offer more flights and holidays to popular winter hotspots such as the Canaries and Spain we are not done yet, with even more exciting announcements about our Winter 19/20 programme coming soon.”
