Iberdrola plans to install 25,000 Super-fast EV charging stations
Spanish electricity supplier Iberdrola has started implementing its plan to install the largest network of fast charging points for the electric car revolution.
The 10 million euro project will see 200 fast electric vehicle chargers installed on motorways throughout the country.
The plan is to install them at intervals of 100 kilometres on six major roads that connect all the provincial capitals.
The first recharging stations will be operational by October of this year with the rest to follow in 2019.
All the electricity at the charging points will come from renewable energy sources that are certified as being 100% green.
This initial rollout of charging stations by Iberdrola is just the start of 25,000 recharging points the company hope to have in place around the country over the next four years.
