Alcoy returns to its Golden Age

Alcoy is transplanted back to its “Golden Age” with the second edition of the “Modernist Week” tribute dedicated to the  Art Nouveau Movement, an international style of art and architecture that is prevalent in the city of Alcoy, Spain.

Despite only being in its second edition, the Alcoy “Modernist Week” is expected to attract thousands of visitors to come and see what life was like during the late 19th and early part of the 20th century.

Exhibitions, guided tours, decorated shops and the discovery of how Alcoy flourished at the latter end of the industrial revolution is what’s on offer to visitors, as well, as the spectacle of local citizens dressed up in the attire of the day.

The best time to visit is this weekend, Saturday the 22nd and Sunday the 23rd of September when the Plaza de España and  Glorieta Park will be full of activities for all to enjoy.
