Forest Fire-Fighters call for an indefinite strike starting in September
Forest fire-fighters in the Valencian Community have called for an indefinite strike starting September 7th that will affect Valencia and northern parts of the Costa Blanca.
The strike follows a meeting of workers unions who came to the conclusion that the only way to resolve issues over pay and working conditions was to go on an indefinite strike.
Last year fire-fighters issued their complaints to a public body (Tragsa) and were told that all their concerns would be addressed and solutions found, yet one year later nothing has changed.
This past summer fire-fighters have worked tirelessly tackling widespread blazes that have destroyed more than 15,000 hectares of wood and shrub land across Spain.
