They also help to form collagen and elastin, which counteracts the effect of dryness on the skin. In addition, red fruits provide many essential minerals and water, which help accelerate the skin cells’ recovery from ultraviolet radiation.

CARROTS

You may remember your grandmother telling you to eat plenty of carrots in the summer as this orange-colour root-vegetable is an important source of beta-carotene, an antioxidant whose function is to help synthesize vitamin A within the body.

GREEN LEAF VEGETABLES

These are another source of antioxidants that will help us maintain a healthier skin. As well as containing beta-carotene they also add folic acid and vitamin E and A which, when combined help to promote a strong barrier against UV rays.
